What is Encaustic Painting?

Encaustic painting, also known as hot wax painting, involves using heated beeswax to which a small amount of Damar resin (tree sap) and coloured pigments are added.

How do you Care for Encaustic Art?

Basically, if you don’t want it to happen to you, don’t let it happen to art!Don’t leave in the car on a warm sunny day ( melting point is 140F)Don’t leave your art in the car on a winter day ( it will freeze and crack!)Don’t scratch at it! ( but if you like a shiny surface, buff it with a soft lint free cloth (old pantyhose work wonders!))If something does happen, let me know! It might be an easy fix!
